Iran, the most misunderstood country in the world.

Let me quote an article by Josahill who travelled to Iran and wrote:

"The most common perception about Iran is that it is filled with terrorists and rebels and chances are that you will come back with a bullet wound on you. That is Bullshit! Iran is probably the most inviting country in the world and its people the nicest I have ever met in my entire life."

And, I have to agree, 100%.

My journey to Iran was for 2 main reasons; meeting my in laws and seeing the beautiful Iran.

Iran is unique, different, beautiful, amazing, all at once. I can't express accurately how the place took me on a different perspective on so many levels. The people, the culture, the history, the landscapes, the nature, the mountains, everything would mesmerize you.

Iran has a lot to offer, owns diverse resources, talented people, amazing arts, skills, but it is quite sad that it remains almost stagnant on the development front mainly due to government and political reasons.

Upon arrival, we were greeted by beautiful bouquet of flowers. You will see this a lot at the airport, i take it is a culture. The people are very warm, kind and friendly. It is by far the best hospitality I've seen.

The women don themselves nicely and almost always with full on make up, everywhere, anyone, everyone. And, they are gorgeous, naturally.

My journey was definitely worth every second spent. We attended many family invitations and had to squeeze in time for sightseeing and travelling just so I don't miss out on the must see places.

My lovely husband took me around the unique and quaint town of Shahrekord, the wanderous nature of Kaj, the ever so gorgeous city of Esfahan, wandered back in time in Shiraz and the mesmerizing ruins of the once a strong empire, the Persepolis as well the beautiful historical place in Kashan. I loved each sights i saw.

Iranians junk on fruits, nuts and wash them down with tea. Tea is part of every day life. Tea is almost integral to everything. There's hot water available for tea and coffee, almost at every gasoline station, shops, mini marts, just everywhere.

Food consumption is healthy with almost zilch unhealthy ingredients. Throughout my 2 weeks there, I almost don't see any overweight people. They are nicely shaped generally. You will see family and picnics everywhere; in parks, by the roadside, at the bridge, gardens, even by the highways! Family bonds are strong and close, which is very nice and awesome to witness.

I am happy that I get to see the beautiful country before it becomes just one of many forgotten lands, God forbid.

And, I surely hope to come back soon inshaaAllah.
